If you are going to own a salt water fish aquarium, the first thing you should do is learn as much about these creatures and their natural environments as possible. In addition to the standard aquarium supplies, a good salt water reef tank should have special gravel made from crushed coral, sea salt mix and a hydrometer. It’s also suggested that you never keep these delicate fish in an aquarium any smaller than 50 gallons  and for many species, much bigger would be better. Having an adequately sized tank with a complete set of equipment is better than going for a massive tank that lacks the required mechanisms, though, as long as it isn’t smaller than 50 gallons.

I recently have been shopping for new bathroom vanity furniture. I have gone to the big chain stores and have also done the specialty bathroom shops. There are many choices ranging from RTA bathroom vanities (RTA= Ready to Assemble) to the highest end luxury bathroom fixtures that are found in these expensive bathroom design studios. I also found that the internet sold many types of bathroom vanity furniture, from EBay to Craigslist and one hundred bathroom and kitchen websites in-between sold all types of bathroom vanities. I have learned many new pros and cons about all aspects of bathroom vanity furniture; here are a few of the highlights.

The first thing was that I became familiar with RTA products. As stated previously RTA bathroom vanities are the do-it-yourself type products that everyone is probably accustomed to, even if you’re not aware of it. I say this because if you look around your house, you will probably see something that was pre-assembled and that was eventually assembled by you, hence the name ready to assemble. These products are everywhere – from the internet (look just do a search for RTA bathroom vanities) to the super hardware chain stores. There is nothing wrong with these products and I endorse them if your going the “renovate your self” type of route. The product is quality, as long as you stay away from the particle board RTA products; just remember to look for the solid wood fronts and more importantly, the paneled wood sides, no particle board.

However I wanted a unique piece of bathroom furniture, a bathroom vanity that stood out and was a center piece of my bathroom. This lead to my second finding; the high end bathroom vanity on the internet; it was almost by accident but it was a true find. I did an internet search and typed in the key words – bathroom vanity furniture (because I consider the best bathroom vanities to actually be pieces of furniture) and I came across some amazing stuff.

Are you the type of person who takes your home for granted? Most of us do. It’s easy, after all, to take things like hot water, working electricity and great plumbing for granted. That is, however, until the item stops working. Then you’re left to try to figure out how to fix the problem, or call in an expensive expert to your home. One thing that most of us take for granted is the garage door. We never think about how much work the garage door does. We simply open and close it during the day as often as necessary, stopping only to think about the garage door when it suddenly won’t open. Garage doors are important to keep up, and when one breaks, they can be expensive to fix.

Many garage doors, however, can be fixed inexpensively by a homeowner, as long as they have a few tools and a bit of patience. The first thing that goes wrong on most garage doors is the springs. See, it is the springs that allow us to be able to lift the heavy garage door using just a slight bit of force. The springs do most of the work, recoiling and pulling the garage door up. That’s why, if you have a garage door opener, it doesn’t have much horsepower to it, as it doesn’t take much to lift a garage door thanks to the invaluable spring.

Older style garages, called flip-up garage doors, use the springs to help flip up the garage door. If you do not use springs, you will find that it takes a huge amount of force and strength to get the garage door to open up and that closing it can be a very dangerous thing to do as well. When you’re dealing with flip-up garage doors, which are sometimes called one piece garage doors, you need to have the weight properly counterbalanced with springs. Once you have this work taken care of properly, you can lift the garage door with one hand easily.
